I've always loved this beautiful song. But it wasn't until 3 months ago that I learned it's actually a super old folk song! As it turns out, the famous version by The Animals is only a cover of the original theme. I dug a little deeper, and discovered the song used to be sang by American miners during the 19th-century. Isn't that interesting?

With that in mind, it was a no-brainer for me to arrange my own version of this song from scratch. As you may know, I love storytelling through music, and famous folk songs are absolutely perfect for that. Also because I can easily add my own playing style without infringing any copyrights. I love to be creative with songs that make me feel great, like this one.

My version turned out to be a nice blend of folk and blues, with some epic twist and turns, and even an original epilogue to make it unique. I truly hope you like my version. If you do, please consider leaving a donation and/or buying the sheet music on my website.
