Lohri Celebrations at Heavenly Palace, Doraha.

Lohri Festival celebrated at Heavenly Palace (Home for Senior Citizens) Doraha, Ludhiana, Punjab with pomp and show.
Day started with Traditional practice by Heavenly Angels by roaming door to door singing folk songs. These children are given sweets and savories. The collections gathered by the children are consist of til, gachchak, crystal sugar, gur (jaggery), moongphali (peanuts) and phuliya or popcorn.
After That Dholi played a vital role in the celebrations by playing dhol and tramp around the Heavenly Palace, by the Tap of Dhol all the residents came out and accompany him to the place where the actual Bonfire took place.
Senior Most Residents lit the Bonfire and followed the ancient tradition.
Col. Sukhpal Singh Khetarpal (GM) and Prof. Avtar Singh (DGM) Welcomed the Resident by their opening Speech.
The celebration continues with Bhangra Performance by Heavenly Angels.
Beautiful Songs by Mrs. Mamta Mehra from Music Maniacs.
Margdarshan students performed Gidha and enhanced the program.
Differently Abled Kids Sang songs, Performed Bhangra and other items from Kusht Ashram.
Fashion Show competition was there which was tremendous.
Special Guests S. Bhajan Singh, Sarpanch of Deatwal and Ms. Deepi Mangat, President, Women cell, Payal Tehsil with their family members were the honored guests of the day.
Whole celebrations were followed by Yum Snacks and Lunch of Makki Ki Roti and Sarson ka Saag served from Heavenly Palace’s Kitchen.
