1. SOUNDBITE (English) Bun B, recording artist - on seasoned rappers needing to provide music to older hip-hop fans:
"You gotta stay active because the reality is that the people that supported us when we were 18, 19, 20 years old, those people are still here. Those people still love hip-hop, they still love our music, but the music that's made by younger, modern artists doesn't really speak to them. Artists that are 20 years old today do not share many things in common with someone that's 50, 55, 60, in terms of responsibilities, in terms of obligations, family -- all of those type of things. And so, those people, they still love hip-hop, they still wanna go out to concerts, they still want to enjoy themselves. But a lot of modern music doesn't speak to that. So, I would argue that we're more necessary than ever to the people that have supported us all of these years because they're left in a musical void where nothing speaks to them. If we don't speak them, no one does. And so, that's why I feel it's very adamant that not only I, but all of my contemporaries, stay active musically."
