The Memberz are a collection of seven top Toronto musicians who express themselves musically, lyrically, socially and politically through reggae music – drawing upon the energy of the Jamaican-Canadian cross-cultural experience. With their throbbing bass, polished rhythms and horns and powerful vocal harmonies, The Memberz strive to break the boundaries of traditional “genre-ification”. On their new single “What Ah Joy”, they are joined by one of Canadian reggae’s all-time greats,10-time Juno Award nominee Exco Levi.

“This song represents the meaning of joy in all aspects of life,” says The Memberz’ lead singer Michael “Mavriq” Brown. “We chose the release date because it is the birthday of both my daughter and our bandleader Roscoe’s grandmother. We hope it brings joy to everyone who hears it!”
