GLORIOUS GLOUCESTERS HONOURED

(24 May 1951) At a South Korean school (headquarters of the British 29th Brigade), a special parade was recently held to honour the heroism of the Gloucesters. The Commander of the Eighth Army, Lieutenant-General van Fleet addressed the parade which included detachments from every unit of the brigade. He was delegated by President Truman to award a citation (the award is the highest American decoration that can be given to a unit) and he presented the ribbons of the award to a token number of Gloucesters and artillerymen.
