Making a New Tool holder For The Vertical Shaper - Shop Made Tool - Manual Machining

The Morey Vertical Shaper/Slotter is by far one of my favorite machines to run. Unfortunately, when I bought it there was no tooling to go with it. I have made all of the tooling for each application, but now I need to make the new tool holder.

The job i need to do, cannot be done with the current tool holder, so I need to make a whole new one. As this is for steady repeat work, it is something I seriously need to address. In fact, the customer for the parts, purchased the material to make this new holder. There is an extreme shortage of machinists and machines to handle long internal keyways.

Starting with a 6" Square block of 1045, watch as I whittle it down to what is needed. Starting on the Lion Lathe, moving to the Monarch lathe, then the Lucas Horizontal Boring Mill, and finishing it up on the Carlton Radial Arm Drill.
