Sailors From the South: The Formidable Jung

It is a legend whispered on the winds that tells about the ships that ruled the seas for hundreds of years. It is told that the ships were massive in size, had wide and high sails, carried hundreds of men, and ten times the normal cargo ship capacities of the time. The ships sailed from the far southeastern archipelago to the near east coasts and also traded with the far east nations.

This is the story of the Javanese Jung, a ship of southern people from the lands below the winds. The legend of the sea which the sail had reached as far as Madagascar and Aden on the west, far before the first European explorer ditched the high seas.
