Regeneration and Healing: The platelets in PRP contain growth factors that could potentially help repair damaged cochlear cells or improve microcirculation in the cochlea, aiding hearing recovery.
Reduction of Inflammation: PRP might help reduce inflammation in the cochlea, which is thought to play a role in SSNHL.
Current Evidence:
While there have been some small studies and case reports suggesting that PRP could be beneficial in improving hearing outcomes in SSNHL, larger, randomized controlled trials are needed to confirm its efficacy. As of now, it is not widely considered a first-line treatment, and there are varying opinions in the medical community about its usefulness for SSNHL.

Standard Treatment for SSNHL:
The first-line treatments for sudden sensorineural hearing loss typically include:

Corticosteroids (oral or intratympanic) to reduce inflammation and swelling.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (in some cases), although evidence for its effectiveness is mixed.
Viral infection treatment (if a viral cause is suspected).
