⚡⬛ 2024 Cadillac LYRIQ | EV Luxury for Uber Black & NYC Black Car Service

While it might not seem like a big number, when contextualized as a percent (%) of all NYC for-hire vehicles (FHVs) that qualify for Uber’s luxury (or premium) service offering (Uber Black (Uber Comfort)), the Cadillac LYRIQ has gained significant traction. In fact, a recent Bloomberg article stated the LYRIQ was the “only bright spot left in the American EV market”, outselling models from Mercedes and BMW. In this video, the AutoMarketplace team reviews a NYC TLC-plated 2024 Cadillac LYRIQ. We rented the LYRIQ from a former fleet customer and long-time NYC TLC driver who transitioned from a gas-powered 2019 Cadillac XTS to the all-electric 2024 LYRIQ. Our team conducted an extensive review over a three week period, including logging over 200 NYC Uber (TLC) trips.

As we go over in the video review and discussion, although the LYRIQ’s all-in price tag (MSRP) is typically north of $65,000 and full coverage NYC TLC insurance ☂️ can cost ~$10,000 (👀) per year, it’s one of the few EVs that (1) qualifies for Uber Black and (2) meets traditional NYC driver and passenger expectations 💎 of what an Uber Black vehicle should be (no offense to the Tesla Model Y 😑, nice car but luxury?! 🤷‍♀️).
