FACS Community – Accelerating Innovation for Farmer Extension Services (Part I).

During this two-day, experiential, hands-on online workshop, participants from various FOLUR Country Project Teams, members of our FACS Community of Practice and relevant food and agricultural commodity systems stakeholders, collaboratively created innovative ideas to work through challenges related to farmer extension services, while enabling knowledge exchange.

Farmer support systems are well recognized as a key factor in contributing to agricultural productivity and growth. Yet, they are still facing recurrent challenges.  To further enable the capacity to think differently about farmer extension services and related challenges under FOLUR, UNDP has also developed a simple, easy-to-use methodology for co-innovation and problem-solving, which can be further used to facilitate ad hoc workshops at national, subnational and landscape levels by practitioners.

The workshop was facilitated by experts from the System Mapping Academy & UNDP’s Food and Agricultural Commodity Systems (FACS) team.
