Our top tips/what we use for doing this hack yourself:

Base
22mm plywood base
12mm mdf strips for packers/feet
Super glue + wood glue

Carcasses / main structure
50cm x 2 (https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/pax-ward...)
100cm x 1 (https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/pax-ward...)
44mm wide square planed timbre (https://www.wickes.co.uk/Wickes-Redwo...) - used to separate the PAX units and make a frame at the same time. If we were to do this project again we would use something more like C16 construction timbre so provide the spacing (https://www.wickes.co.uk/Wickes-Sawn-...) and plane the edge to give a nice flat look. C16 can be found in many sizes so you could bring it out however far required by the hinge and door designs you go for.

Wood screws (~3.5mm x 40mm) + X8 Glue (https://www.screwfix.com/p/no-nonsens...)
