Yamaha RS 100 Gas Tank Repaint (Samurai Paint Signal Red)

(I admit that there are some orange peel, but I still want to share you my steps and process.)

Step 1: Sand it with 100 grit, since you will not only remove the rust, but also it will help remove the old paint but more effective when applying paint remover when you sand it first.
Step 2: Apply paint remover to remove old paint. (as usual).😊😊
Step 3: Sand it again starting with 100 grit, 220 grit and 400 grit. Wash and rinse it to remove all the dirt and leftover grease.
Step 4: After washing it, dry then apply 2k06 Metal Primer (SAMURAI PAINT).
Step 5: After applying some coats of 2k06 Metal Primer (SAMURAI PAINT) wetsand it starting from 400 grit, 600 grit, 800 grit and 1000 grit.
Step 6: Apply basecoat, I've chose 33/6 RED (SAMURAI PAINT), I also applied 39/1701 Sparkling Silver (SAMURAI PAINT) to achieve some sparkling effects but changed my mind and applied red as basecoat again since this is a tracker build and will use it more in offroad conditions.
Step 7: I put dual line design at the middle of the tank, I used 29/109A FLAT BLACK (SAMURAI PAINT)
Step 8: After applying basecoat, I wetsanded starting again from 400 grit, 800 grit, 1000 grit, 1200 grit and 1200 grit and put a sticker at the middle (Mio Dio official logo and will give it to my subscribers and followers soon for free just stay tuned on it guys!)
Step 9: Applied clear coat. 1/128 CLEAR COAT (SAMURAI PAINT)
Step 10: cure it until it's dry. 48 hours is the minimum curing time.

(OPTIONAL) (Especially if there are some ORANGE PEEL)
Step 11: After applying clear coat 1/128 and curing it for 2 days or 1 week, you can wetsand it starting from 1000 grit, 2000, 3000 and 4000, and buff it using a buffing machine (much better) with rubbing compound. Then after that, wipe it with a clean microfiber cloth, put some polishing compound and buff it (by hand or with buffing machine), wipe it again with microfiber cloth, then apply sealant or wax for protection from dirt and UV RAYS. (Much better result when you do this).

After seeing it that you've done it yourself, all your tiredness will disappear like nothing happened and just want to stare at your finished art.
