Upgrading Vision Metron 5D ACR with Shimano Di2 wireless unit EW-WU111

Whatever expensive your Di2 road bike is, a factory Di2 build normally doesn't offer any wireless connectivity. Unlike an MTB Di2 junction like SC-MT800, a road junction like EW-RS910 doesn't have either Bluetooth or D-Fly. If you want to add wireless connectivity to such a Di2 build, the easiest solution is to upgrade it with Shimano wireless unit EW-WU111. The upgrade itself has been covered in lots of youtube videos, so there's no need to cover it once again. In this video we discover how this Shimano wireless unit fits inside a one piece fully integrated aero handlebar Vision Metron 5D ACR. Might be useful if you plan to go for such a handlebar. Or a similar one. This is a factory build of Merida Reacto TEAM-E 2021.

BTW There's a common problem with Di2 wireless connection. It usually occurs when you try to update Di2 components firmware straight after changing your passkey. Di2 doesn't like this. After you change your passkey from initial "000000", it wants you to immediately disconnect, go to your mobile device Bluetooth settings, and forget the Di2 device. Now you are to establish a new wireless connection with the passkey you have set earlier. Done! You are free to update firmware and change any settings without any further problems! However, if you were in a hurry and didn't reconnect with an updated passkey before an update, normally the system fails and becomes absolutely unresponsive. Don't worry too much though, lots of us went through this. To recover, in most cases you just need to disconnect your Di2 battery for some time, the system will reset and start working again.
