The FN 509M is a great pistol on paper. 4" barrel, 15 round capacity, aggressive grip texture, and 26.5 oz puts it at the Glock 19 size. This pistol checks off all the boxes for me personally but once I got it to the range I was unimpressed. Its texture, although very grippy, acts like a miniature sawblade you are holding onto. Granted my hands are office hands not car mechanic hands, so take my opinion lightly. If you have sweaty or heavily calloused hands this pistol may be great for you. The FN pistol line up is well known for it's reliability and in this limited review it delivered, even my Glock failed to feed one round.
