😼🎄Spray repellents can keep your cats away from the Christmas tree, and it's easy to make your own DIY cat deterrent. Some cats dislike citrus scents or bitter tastes, so boil 3 cups of water, add 1/2 cup of fresh rosemary, remove from heat, and cover. Let sit overnight. The next day, strain the water to remove the rosemary pieces using a cheesecloth or sieve. Pour into a spray bottle, add 3/4 cup distilled white vinegar and 1/4 cup of lemon juice, and shake well. Spray your tree every few days. You can also place fresh lemon and orange peels around the base of the tree or within the branches. Plastic baggies of citrus placed around the base of the tree also work. Just replace the peels every few days to maintain the fresh scent. Diluted apple cider vinegar sprayed around the base of the tree can also be a good deterrent to cats who aren't fond of the smell. 🎁🐾

🌬️Try a motion- or heat-activated spray to warn your cat to stay away. These types of sprays are harmless to your cat but scare them away because of the startling burst of air or spray. Unlike spraying your cat with a water bottle, these can train your cat to stay away from the tree without associating fear with you.
