Make your own pita chips at home out of a few simple ingredients. (Even better, use up the last leftover piece of pita bread.) Seasoned with a za'atar spice mix, these oven baked chips are great on their own or used to scoop up your favorite dip.

PITA CHIPS INGREDIENTS
2½ tablespoons (26 grams) za'atar
1 tablespoons (5 grams) nutritional yeast
¼ teaspoon kosher salt
½ teaspoon coarse black pepper
1 tablespoon (15mL) olive oil
3 tablespoons (46 grams) egg whites
1 large (~8 inches) pita bread (regular or whole wheat)

INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat oven to 325°F. Line a large sheet pan with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, mix together the spices, oil and egg whites.
Use a knife or kitchen scissors to cut the pita bread in half. Repeat until you have 8 triangles. Slice each pocket open at the top, doubling the pieces of pita.
Dip or brush each pita triangle with the seasoned oil mixture. Arrange onto the sheet pan.
Bake 20 minutes. Flip and rotate the pan halfway through.
