Takasaki is a city located in Gumma Prefecture, Japan. As of 31 August 2020, the city had an estimated population of 372,369 in 167,345 households, and a population density of 810 persons per km². The total area of the city is 459.16 square kilometres (177.28 sq mi). Takasaki is famous as the hometown of the Daruma doll, theoretically representing the Buddhist sage Bodhidharma and in modern practice a symbol of good luck. Takaski has been the largest city in Gunma Prefecture since 1990 after beating Maebashi.

Takasaki Station is a junction railway station located in the city of Takasaki, operated by the East Japan Railway Company (JR East) and the private railway operator Jōshin Dentetsu.

Takasaki Station is served by the Jōetsu and Hokuriku Shinkansen lines and is 74.7km from Ōmiya and 105.0km from Tokyo. It is also served by the Hachikō Line and the Takasaki Line with through services to and from the Agatsuma Line and Ryōmō Lines. The Jōetsu Line and Shin'etsu Main Line both terminate at Takasaki Station. The Jōshin Dentetsu Jōshin Line also terminates at Takasaki Station and is 33.7km from the opposing terminus of the line at Shimonita.
