Upgrading to a Carbon Wheel

How many alloy wheels does one need to break before considering a carbon one? For me, it was 2 wheels in 9 weeks. I'm not one to naturally "bling out" my hardtail, but this carbon wheel is more for its durability than it's flashiness. What other advantages do carbon wheels have?
