Amazon recently made the decision to start using AI voices instead of hiring real voice actors, which is fucking stupid.

One of the anime that they decided to desecrate using AI voice acting slop was Banana Fish, a highly anticipated anime dub that many talented people would have been extremely happy to be a part of. Instead, they opted out of hiring actual human beings and went with the lowest-cost, lowest-quality, absolute dogshit decision they could’ve possibly made.

I decided to put out a reel of me doing some voices for Banana Fish. It wasn’t hard, and it sounds a lot better than the garbage they’re putting out now.

I would highly encourage you to support real voice, acting talent, not only those involved in professional projects, but those looking for work, and those that have gone on recognized or underappreciated. Support talent, where it exists, don’t shunt it off where nobody can see it and replace it with something worthless instead.

This isn’t about me wanting a job as a voice actor, this is about me promoting the art of voice acting for what it is, something irreplaceable, and beautiful that no machine can capture the soul or purpose of.

Fuck Amazon and fuck AI.
Hire real voice actors.
