Jonathan James Owens is an American football player who currently plays as a strong safety for the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League (NFL). He is also known for being the husband of Simone Biles, a record-smashing gymnast and Olympic gold medallist.
Owens was born on July 22, 1995, in St. Louis, Missouri, United States. He is the son of James and Angela Owens, and has two sisters, Jasmine and Janae. He grew up in a sports-loving family and developed a passion for football at an early age.
Owens attended Christian Brothers College High School (CBC) in St. Louis, where he played high school football under coach Scott Pingel. He won CBC Line backer of the Year during his high school career. After graduating from CBC, he enrolled at Missouri Western State University (MWSU) in St. Joseph, Missouri, where he majored in pre-physical therapy with the goal of becoming a doctor. He was on the MIAA Academic Honour Roll throughout his college career.
Owens played as a line backer and a running back for the CBC Cadets. He helped his team win the Class 6 state championship in 2012, and was named to the All-Metro first team by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. He also excelled in track and field, competing in the 100-meter dash, the 200-meter dash, and the 4x100-meter relay.
