Modern Warfare 2 is right around the corner when it comes to an official reveal. Modern Warfare 2 gameplay, campaign info and perhaps multiplayer gameplay and information are likely to follow soon. However, while we’ve discussed at length what we’ve heard about the Modern Warfare campaign and multiplayer gameplay changes coming, one thing that has been an interesting topic that’s skirted below the radar is the new and upcoming third game mode, currently rumored and called “DMZ”. This mode, likened to Escape From Tarkov has been in development longer than the entirety of Modern Warfare 2 from insider reports, but just not as the main focal point of the studio. That said, there’s bound to be quite a bit that comes along with it, correct? Recently, insider TheGhostofHope had mentioned information that one of his sources had relayed that may concern some Modern Warfare 2 fans, but ultimately, it should be no issue. That being that DMZ is likely going to be launching in the “Beta” state, which again, may sound weird, but realistically, it may give the mode more freedom and life going forward, allowing for quicker updates and more fan feedback post launch to any adjustments that may need to be made. Is it cause for concern? Personally, I think not, I mean, Warzone launched in Beta in March of 2020 alongside Modern Warfare 2019 so until we have any reason to give it doubt, I see no reason seeking it out!
