Carnival IS a holiday celebrated in many places around the world.
THE
THE biggest celebration is in Brazil.
AS
In some places, Carnival celebrations begin AS early AS January 6th. The last day of Carnival is 47 days before the Christian holiday Easter.
OF
In New Orleans, the last day OF Carnival is called Mardi Gras. This day is also called Fat Tuesday.
MY
People eat special food. MY family eats pancakes on Fat Tuesday.
IN
In New Orleans, people eat a dessert called King Cake. There is a toy baby hidden inside. The person that finds the toy baby is king for the day!
TO
There are parades TO celebrate Carnival.
LOOK
LOOK at the costumes! Costumes are an important part of Carnival.
SEE
We SEE fancy masks in Venice, Italy!

DO you like the music?

In New Orleans, the colors of Mardi Gras ARE gold, purple and green.
