Newly Elected Northern Territory Chief Minister Lia Finocchiaro outlines the Country Liberal Party's plans for the territory as she joins the national cabinet for the first time.

"Territorians have very clearly said they want a government that is going to deal with our law-and-order crisis, they want a strong economy for themselves and their kids, and we want to enjoy our beautiful territory lifestyle," Ms Finocchiaro told Sky News Australia.

"We know family and domestic violence is rife in the territory we have five times the national average and so we'll be focused on working collaboratively with the federal government to deliver change in the territory."
