A beautiful example of a rare Wolseley Six. I talk to the owner about his car and reminisce about my fathers Wolseley Six in the same colour combination Harvest Gold/Olive green trim. I was so delighted to see this car at the Andrew Hardy Classics show back in June 2024 and I made a bee line for it. I recalled it coming up for auction with Mathewson's (Bangers and Cash) in October 2023 and I was very tempted to go and view it. When it sold I didn't know where it had gone to but I was so pleased to discover that it had been bought by someone fairly local to me and that I had the opportunity to see it. The owner started with a fairly good base but has brought it back to as new condition and it is the finest example that I have seen. It couldn't have looked any better back in 1974 when it was first registered.
The Wolseley Six was in production from 1972 to 1975 .It was replaced by the new Wedge shaped Wolseley based on the new Austin/Morris 18/22 range. It continued to have a 2.2 engine and was in production from March to September 1975 when the new model line up was rebranded Princess and the Wolseley model discontinued. It was the last car to bear the Wolseley name.
If you want to see what this car was like when the current owner purchased it through Mathewson's I attach a link to a walk round video.
