I'm a Broken-Hearted Blackbird (Dorothy Fields-Jimmy McHugh)
played by Leroy Smith and his Orchestra
Victor 21472 (78 rpm record)

This is a great African American dance/jazz band from Detroit, which made about a dozen recordings in the 1920s. Brian Rust lists following personnel in his jazz discography:

Leroy Smith (dir.); Frank Belt, Charlie Gaines (t); Wilbur de Paris (tb); Emerson Harper (cl-as); Harold Henson (as-sb); Stan Peters (ts-bsn); John Long (vn); Harry Brooks (p); Sam Speed (banjo); Fred Peters (bb-d). Recorded in Camden, New Jersey, April 2, 1928.

The Detroit Public Library has some amazing photographs (all under copyright) of this group:

I transcribed this 78 rpm record about 25 years ago, and recently used Vinyl Studio software to remove some of the noise.
