On August 4, Soviet and Georgian film director, screenwriter, teacher and politician Eldar Shengelaia passed away at the age of 92.
In 1968, he shot the tragicomedy "Unusual Exhibition". In 1983, he directed the comedy film "Blue Mountains, or Unbelievable Story” and other films.
He was awarded the Shota Rustaveli Prize, the USSR State Prize, the Golden Order of St. George and others. Shengelaia died at home due to cardiac arrest. May he rest in peace.
