Munmun Dhamecha who was arrested alongside Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan and Arbaaz Merchant in the 2021 drugs-on-cruise case has been denied permission by a special court to get the custody of her electronic gadgets and mobile handsets. According to reports, the special court judge ruled ‘It is easy to tamper with the contents of the software and hardware of these electronic gadgets. Therefore, it is not proper to return these articles to the accused.’ Reportedly, Munmun was trying to reclaim her seized properties but NCB’s special prosecutor stated that the electronic gadgets contained critical pieces of evidence in the form of voice notes, photos, etc. Notably, the court decided to return the model’s passport and bank passbook to her despite objections from the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). The court directed the NCB to photocopy the documents before returning them to Munmun. However, it has been clarified that she cannot travel abroad without the court’s permission. For the unversed, Munmun was arrested with 5 grams of charas intended for her personal consumption when she boarded the Cordelia cruise in October 2021. The NCB had allegedly recovered some chats from her mobile phone that allegedly indicated her involvement in drug consumption. While Aryan Khan’s case was dismissed by the NCB, Munmun Dhamecha and Arbaaz Merchant are still facing prosecution.For more news and updates, stay tuned to ETimes.
