Описание к видео Severe weather in Northeast Ohio: Thunderstorms lead to flood chances

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for central Lorain County until 12:15 a.m.

This comes after severe thunderstorms made their way through Northeast Ohio. Officials say up to 2 inches of rain have already fallen in the area around Elyria, with up to 1 1/2 more expected.

At 8:22 p.m., thunderstorms were first located along a line extending from near Wakeman to the area around Willard, moving northeast at 35 mph. This then led to Lorain, Cuyahoga, Geauga, and a number of other counties being placed under a severe thunderstorm warning.

Officials say the storm was capable of producing 60 mph wind gusts and penny quarter-sized hail. Minor damage to vehicles was possible, along with damage to trees and power lines.
