Martinsell Hill is on the ridge overlooking the vale of Pewsey. It’s Old English name is Metaelsburg but it is Iron Age and not just that one of the oldest Iron Age hillforts. It is part of a complex of Iron Age monuments including the Giant’s Grave which is really also an Iron Age fort and not a grave at all.

This will be the next series of videos, this complex around the hill, including the other prehistoric earthworks nearby. We are still within five miles of Avebury and only a couple of miles from the Wansdyke and West Woods.
