#ConferenceHousePark is a park in #Tottenville, Staten Island, New York City. The park is located along the Arthur Kill coast where the kill opens into Raritan Bay. It contains clay bluffs, part of the terminal moraine, formed when the Wisconsin Glacier receded 10,000 years ago. Ward's Point, the southernmost point in New York state, is in the park.

#ConferenceHouse Park is named after the historic Conference House, a c. 1680 stone manor house in which a peace conference was initiated between British and American forces on September 11, 1776, in an effort to halt the #AmericanRevolution. The area of the park was once part of Bentley Manor owned by the #BillopHouse family. The Henry Hogg Biddle house constructed between 1845 and 1853 is another #historicstructure in the park. The park contains several other buildings such as the Ward House, the Biddle House, and the Rutan-Beckett House.

A new pavilion opened in 2002. The park was slated for improvements during 2008–2009, including the restoration of the #BiddleHouse, new educational exhibits, and a second playground, one of five which are planned for Staten Island as part of Mayor Michael Bloomberg's PlaNYC initiative.The extensive renovation finally started in 2017.

Conference House Park is a great destination for both park and history buffs. Located at the southernmost point of New York State, this park houses four historic buildings that trace the history of the borough over the course of three centuries. The Conference House, the Biddle House, the Ward House and Rutan-Beckett House all tell of a New York and an America of the past.

The Conference House, a grand stone manor house built in 1680, is named for the unsuccessful #RevolutionaryWar peace conference that was held here on September 11, 1776 between the Americans and the English. Despite their negotiations to end the fighting, no agreement was reached and the Revolutionary War continued for another seven years.

In addition to its historic landmarks and its breathtaking views of the Raritan Bay, the 265-acre park boasts a newly refurbished playground, a Visitors Center, expanded paths and hiking and biking trails. Another great park destination is the “South Pole,” marking the southernmost point of New York State.
