Street Photography With Ricoh GR II

Описание к видео Street Photography With Ricoh GR II

Street photography is what my little Ricoh GR II is great for. After the questions my last video raised, I thought it was time to give street photography a proper go.

So I put the little Ricoh GR II in my pocket and was once again very pleased with the ease this camera gives me.
I haven't used it for a long time and was annoyed to find on the first potential scene that there was no memory card in it - duh!
Too bad, because the lady on the stairs doing her exercises could have given a great image. By the time a memory card was in, of course, she was already gone. Oh well. Street photography doesn't tolerate carelessness.

But how to film the whole thing on video?

Alone, without a cameraman, I saw only the possibility to work with the street photography "stage method". No way to just roam the streets, spontaneously shoot interesting scenes and film it at the same time.
So I looked for "stages" with an appealing composition, watched the action, positioned myself and the video camera and waited for something to happen.

I am absolutely not an experienced street photographer. This combined with filming made me sweat again and again. Although no killer shot came out of it, I'm still happy with the images and especially with how fun, refreshing and inspiring this very different way of photographing was (in contrast to how I usually photograph).

Thanks for watching!
