২৩৭টি আসনে কেন্দ্রীয় মনোনয়ন ঘোষণার পর থেকেই বিএনপির তৃণমূলে বইছে তীব্র প্রতিক্রিয়ার ঝড়। দেশের নানা অঞ্চলে চলছে বিক্ষোভ, মিছিল আর প্রতিবাদের ঢেউ। প্রায় এক মাস পার হলেও মনোনয়নবঞ্চিত নেতাদের পক্ষে এখনো সরব স্থানীয় পর্যায়ের নেতাকর্মীরা। ঘোষিত প্রার্থীদের বিরুদ্ধে বিদ্রোহী অবস্থান নিয়ে তারা কেন্দ্রের নজর কাড়ার চেষ্টা করছেন সক্রিয়ভাবেই।

কিছু এলাকায় প্রার্থী পরিবর্তনের দাবিতে কর্মসূচি পালন করতে গিয়ে মনোনয়নপ্রাপ্ত প্রার্থীর সমর্থকদের সঙ্গে সংঘর্ষের ঘটনাও ঘটেছে। কোথাও অভিযোগ উঠছে — বিতর্কিত এক-এগারোর সংস্কারপন্থী, হাইব্রিড বা বহিরাগতদের মনোনয়ন দেওয়া হয়েছে। আবার কেউ বলছেন, দীর্ঘদিনের ত্যাগীরা যথাযথ মূল্যায়ন পাননি। ফলে ঘোষিত ২৩৭টির মধ্যে ৬০টির বেশি আসনে বিক্ষোভ অব্যাহত রেখেছে স্থানীয় নেতারা।

Since the announcement of the central nominations for 237 seats, there has been a storm of strong reactions in the grassroots of BNP. Waves of demonstrations, processions and protests are going on in various parts of the country. Even though it has been almost a month, local leaders and activists are still vocal in favor of the leaders who were deprived of nominations. They are actively trying to attract the attention of the center by taking a rebellious stance against the announced candidates.

In some areas, there have been incidents of clashes with supporters of the nominated candidates while holding programs demanding a change of candidate. Some are alleging that the controversial reformists, hybrids or outsiders of the 1-11 have been nominated. Others are saying that long-time defectors have not received proper evaluation. As a result, local leaders have continued to protest in more than 60 of the 237 announced seats.
