-- PRESENTATION: SHINGETSU MUSO YANAGI JUJUTSU --
Master Iwanaga Gen-no-jō used to train the Yagyū-ryū Kenjutsu style after his father in his native province in north Kyushu (region of Nagasaki), and then mixed it with several school of Jūjutsu, such as Yoshin-ryū from the Nabeshima Clan and Takagi-ryū Jūjutsu. Finally, he also learned the Kukishin-ryū staff techniques. From that diverse training, he created his own style and officially named his school Shingetsu Muso Yanagi Ryu in 1753, when he thought he finally had perfected it.
