Roman society was built on the idea of constantly rising through military ranks, which was engraved in the culture of its nobility. The highest achievement was to climb through all the respectable officer positions, in a very specific order, and earn your place among the most respectable people in Rome. With this colossal significance in mind, this video hopes to explore the upper ranks of the Roman army and see how they compare to modern military structures. We chose to focus our comparison to the US army, but most modern militaries will have a very similar command structure that is likewise surprisingly similar to the Roman Legions of old!
