Easiest way to Solo Gold in Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer

No weapon required. No gear required, missiles or ops packs. Very little skill required, you just repeat the same 3 keypresses over and over. It's fun and frantic but very safe. It doesn't get any easier (legitimately anyway).

All you need is:

1. A Krogan Vanguard character.
2. A Cyclonic Modulator III (all players pick these up from time to time). A Cyclonic IV even easier if you have one.

That's all. You can then play like a crazed senseless lunatic during the whole solo without owning decent gear :)

This is a melee Kroguard build, way safer, easier and faster to solo than a reegar build; the reegar; gets you staggered and killed too easily as it leaves you vulnerable when firing, requiring you to take cover - which means tactics. You don't need tactics to solo gold if you play like this video:

1. Point at the first enemy you see and Biotic charge them (key 1 on PC).
2. Heavy Melee twice (hold F key on PC).
3. Repeat.

That's it! The Biotic charge restores 100% of your shields and damages+staggers 3 enemies at a time). Each heavy melee gives you massive damage reduction and does huge stagger damage to anything you hit. If you miss, don't worry because the damage reduction is keeping you alive and healthy long enough that by the time they've finished you can biotic charge again and repeat. Simples. :D

Occasionally you'll get staggered by a Prime back-swing or Geth bomb. When that happens assume you've completed your last move and move on to the next one (e.g. if you it happens when trying your first melee of the sequence, then just do the second one).

If you want a weapon to speed things up, I recommend either the acolyte or Predator (everyone starts ME3 with this). The Acolyte is best as it can be charged and fired in parallel with your biotic charges and melees. The predator is OK because you can rapidly fire off a few shots in the brief moments between melees, plus it's one of the fastest reloading weapons in the game. More powerful pistols have slow initial firing/re-firing times and this is bad because it means your character is a sitting duck; easily damaged and staggered.

Also remember that to get the Lone Wolf challenge you only need to do 2 Gold solos, 3 Silver solos and 5 Bronze solos, since each higher class solo extraction automatically counts towards lower extractions. At the end of the mission you'll see this in the achievements popups on the right.

The only time you might need to think rather than fight senselessly is during objectives (Wave 3, Wave 6 and Wave 10):

1. Hacks are simple. Just wait in cover until the Geth are inside your circle, they do your charge-melee-melee thing.

2. Targets are easy-peasy and what you do anyway. Do your charge-melee-melee. Two Primes surrounded by bombers and pyros? No problemo for this character. :)

3. Escorts are quite simple. Either charge-melee-melee any enemy you see if your shields get low, or better walk in cover, moving between walls and cover; you can usually do this during entire escort waves.

4. Devices: First 2 or 3 are usually easy and way from any enemies. The 3rd and 4th are sometimes 'busy', so move to the other side of the map to get enemies to come to you, then run back to the device (which will usually be completely safe and quiet).

5. Pizzas are hardest if they're far from the extraction zone. PC players can learn to sprint with pizzas by holding space bar as they start to run, then tapping it on and off so they keep dropping and picking up the pizza. Otherwise move using heavy melees as this reduces the damage you take. If your shields drop then just biotic charge the nearest enemy, melee them to death, then back to the pizza.

Typical solo time would be about 26-27 minutes with a Juggernaut Shield attached. Even faster with Incendary ammo. I used no gear just to demonstrate how any new player can do this. A Cyclonic IV would help a lot more too. I did die once on Wave9 and had to gel, but with a Cyclonic IV this doesn't happen. And with a Juggernaut and Cyclonic IV this definitely doesn't happen.

With experience you can solo waves 1-7 like this without any cyclonic and never die. If you do then it's only wave 8 and wave 9 where you need to think occasionally; when a bomber drops it's load, time your biotic charge or melee with the explosions and you won't receive damage from them.
