Exploring An Abandoned Debenhams In Reading

This was a Debenhams shop in Reading which closed during the first half of 2020. The shop used to have 3 floors, but the top floor has been turned into a Home Furnishing shop. This was one of 2 large department stores in the Oracle Shopping Centre.

You are able to walk around the top floor of the new shop, but the 2 floors below have been blocked off. The escalators down have been barriered off and they have put decorative wood around the escalators to stop you from seeing down there.

The lifts are still operational and are only there so that you can access the Car Park floors above. The buttons to go down to the abandoned floors are locked off. However, being quite observant, I noticed that the lift on the left parks down on the bottom floor while not in use. That's how I got down there.

I felt unsure that the lift would come back down again if I called it, so I left my bag in between the doors to stop the lift from leaving.

While I was exploring the 1st floor, I noticed that there was someone working. That's why I ended the video. I don't think they noticed me though.
