Hey guys, this is Jiale! And this is Joanne!

So together, we’re going to talk about why we bought our prenatal plan from AIA.

But before we begin, we have some disclaimer to make.

In this video, i'll be removing my adviser hat and putting on my father-to-be hat instead. This decision is made after we have done our comparison and we felt this plan fits our needs the most. This is not a product recommendation advertisement; this is just a personal sharing of our choice as a consumer

So, let’s begin!

AIA’s prenatal policy is called Mum2Baby.
If you have no idea what a prenatal policy is, you can check out a 3-min video by Jiale, MONEYMAP episode 40.

Here's 3 reasons why we ultimately choose AIA Mum2Baby:

1) Highest Number of Pregnancy Complications and Congenital Illnesses covered

The first and most obvious reason is that AIA Mum2Baby currently (currently now in 2019) covers the most number of pregnancy complications and congenital illnesses. They are at 10 and 23 respectively.

In fact, AVIVA and NTUC Income have the same number of conditions covered, which brings us to point 2.

2) Guaranteed Lifelong Coverage

Now what's unique about Mum2Baby is that it can be bundled with a Whole Life Policy. In layman it means that you pay 20 years of premiums to cover your child for a lifetime. To my missus and i, I think this is like a gift for our child. The policy will be temporarily parked under her and to be transferred over to the baby after birth. The best part is, that there’s no medical questions asked.
So now I know my little one will receive guaranteed lifelong protection while he/she is still in the womb.

3) Multi-Stage Critical Illnesses covered

You can cover your baby for early, intermediate and advanced stage critical illness until age 100, when you attach one of the riders. Now this rider also cover your child for child critical illnesses and behavioural conditions like ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, which is something you don’t see yet in other insurance companies.

It also helps when AIA covers 43 critical illnesses, currently the highest in Singapore. Yes you are right.

So there you go! Even though we bought our prenatal plan from AIA, we want to stress that it may or may not be suitable for you.
Most importantly, you have to do your own read up and talk to your trusted adviser before you commit into any insurance plans.
