As part of the ‘Computation + Architecture’ lecture series by the Master Program at the school of Architecture at UTS, PC Thomas, director at Team Catalyst, presents his lecture titled ‘Using Energy Simulations to Drive Decisions in the Built Environment’, where he explores the use of DesignBuilder Software tools, applied to drive design decisions for residential renovation in eastern Sydney.

PC Thomas is a specialist in improving the energy efficiency, and therefore, reducing the greenhouse gas footprint, of large buildings. PC specialises in Integrated Building Design; using simulation tools to assist in the design and delivery of sustainable buildings, in particular, in predicting the performance of the mechanical services.

The ‘Computation + Architecture’ Lecture series is or organised by Dr. Mohammed Makki, Dave Pigram and Dr. Tim Schork from the school of Architecture at UTS, in which they invite practitioners and researchers from around the globe to share their expertise on the role of advanced technologies and optimisation in architecture and design projects of various scales.
