Hi everyone.

It's been 5 years since I officially started @cafemaddy as a hobby. Many things have happened and I have grown and changed along with my content, huge thanks to all of you discovering and loving my videos. I will be forever grateful for those of you who find peace and joy in my cooking and writing.

While I experienced the various ebbs and flows of creativity the past few years, recently I took the time to sit down and reflect on how my content started and evolved- and most importantly, why I've been feeling empty even though I was doing what I supposedly loved without a doubt when I first started.

After some thinking I pulled up something I wrote the first month I created my website in 2020. (Back then I thought I’d sound more legitimate being written in third person, so bear with me) It read, "her vision is to cultivate a calm and uplifting space in social media for people to enjoy, relax, and be inspired. she tries to focus less on drawing attention, but more on giving- giving inspiration, peace, and telling stories." I realize now that this has been the foundation of cafe maddy all along.

I know why it felt so easy and effortless to lay down the core value, the brand that I would be living and breathing and finding purpose in, for the next few years. It was because I wasn't after anything but to express and share what I love the most.

And with that piece of writing, I found myself back at home. I grounded myself to start again, with the same intentions, a few years older.
