Boxing (GB) Playthrough

This game is confusing because I went from not damaging Aporo Food at all to demolishing him and the guy after him to beat the game. After I lost twice,
did the game lower the difficulty? Or do these boxers just have different builds and it comes down to RNG (not great design if so...) I don't know, quite confusing... if you wait before punching your punches will increase in power, but I could get
through with ease by button mashing, so I'm not sure the point really. It's an almost recommendable game if it wasn't so confusing 'cuz why did
I randomly start demolishing these guys after losing and barely being able to damage them, and what's the point in waiting for more powerful punches
if you can button mash to successfully win fairly fast in the first round... anyway, it was fun to be able to select Mai Taison.
