A trauma is personal and nobody should compare or diminish the pain or sadness one felt because of their trauma…
But one should also have the ability to realise that some traumas are far more devastating than others and that traumas that are uncontrollable are very different from the ones deliberately caused by someone to you .
I can say this with utmost certainty that no one who has experienced trauma like this has been able to move on from it fully. It shapes you , your personality and your basic way in which you operate life .
It changes a carefree , energetic , happy 5year old child into an anxious, angry , depressed person overnight 💔
And in so many horrifying cases , It ends a beautiful, loved life !
And why ? All because some man could not control his momentary desire , because some man saw us as merely an object for his pleasure ..because stricter laws and actions aren’t in place for such monsters .
This act of seeing a woman as an object starts small ….From letching and staring at women , sending cheap comments and DMs to women online and not stopping your “bhai or bro” when he passes disrespectful remarks about a girl in your “boyz only” whatsapp group…
Just respecting women who are your mother , sister , wife or daughters isn’t respecting women !
Hoping that we start holding ourselves and the people around us accountable for such transgressions, hoping that we stop making ridiculous victim blaming statements atleast now and hoping that we see a new wave of absolute strict laws for such abusers !
