Amy Elliott is a PhD Candidate of Mechanical Engineering studying 3D printing. Amy led the design and fabrication of the DreamVendor -- the world's first 3D printing vending machine. Her PhD research deals with creating physical unclonable security features for 3D printed objects. Amy was a finalist on the first season of The Discovery Channel show The Big Brain Theory: Pure Genius, which aired May through June of 2013. Her talk "Re-fostering Innovation in America" will include some of the insights Amy gained about her own field while being on a reality TV show.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.
