#2 Expedition to the white beach and the desert castle

An der Atlantikküste zwischen Aglou Plage, Mirleft und Sidi Ifni wurde seit unserer ersten Marokko-Tour vor 12 Jahren sehr viel gebaut. Südlich von Sidi Ifni beginnt für uns ein unbekanntes, menschenleeres Marokko, durch das erst seit einigen Jahren eine Asphaltstraße führt. An der Mündung des Oued Noun in den Atlantik endet die Straße und beginnt der traumhaft schöne Plage Blanche („weißer Strand“), wo wir vergeblich unseren reservierten Campingplatz suchen. Der ist in Wirklichkeit ganz wo anders als auf Google Maps eingezeichnet. Eine nagelneue Piste führt uns weiter nach Süden bis zur vierspurigen Sahara-Magistrale N1. Auf einer sandigen Piste, die nur mit Fahrrad oder Allradfahrzeugen zu bewältigen ist, schlagen wir uns durch bis zum „Wüstenschloss“ Ksar Tafnidilt.

On the Atlantic coast between Aglou Plage, Mirleft and Sidi Ifni, a lot has been built since our first tour of Morocco 12 years ago. South of Sidi Ifni, an unknown, deserted Morocco begins for us, through which an asphalt road has only been running for a few years. At the mouth of the Oued Noun into the Atlantic, the road ends and the beautiful Plage Blanche ("white beach") begins, where we search in vain for our reserved campsite. In reality, it is somewhere completely different to where it is marked on Google Maps. A brand new dirt road leads us further south to the four-lane Sahara highway N1. We make our way to the "desert castle" of Ksar Tafnidilt on a sandy track that can only be negotiated by bike or four-wheel drive vehicle.
