Better EV than BYD Atto 3? Hyundai Kona Electric 2024 review: Premium Extended Range | family test

The 2024 Hyundai Kona Electric has stepped up its game with its second-generation model, which has brought a space-age exterior design to the fully electric small SUV. As such, it stands out from the crowd, which includes competitors like the BYD Atto 3, MG ZS EV and Kia Niro EV.

That said, the new Kona Electric brings a very familiar EV powertrain to the table. The single front-mounted electric motor remains, as does its power output of 150kW. However, maximum torque falls from 395Nm to 255Nm to improve efficiency and, therefore, driving range, which is now up to 484km.
