In this clip, Akon talked about being offered over $100 million for his music catalog and turning it down. This spun into a larger conversation about the pros and cons of selling publishing and why most artists should sell if given the opportunity. However, for writers and producers, Akon said it’s different as those people are more in the arena of producing content which could prove detrimental if publishing rights are given up.
