SYND 17 2 79 HANDOVER OF THE UNITED STATES CLARK AIR BASE TO THE PHILIPPINES GOVERNMENT

(16 Feb 1979) The United States hands over its Clark Airbase on Luzon Island to the Philippine government. It was a backbone of logistical support for the Americans during the Vietnam war.
