An outboard motor won't start if the pull starter rope is broken or won't retract!
I needed to figure out how to replace the pull cord on my Mercury 15hp outboard motor. It broke while my boat was on the water, so that wasn't the greatest place to learn how to fix a pull cord on an outboard motor! This could work on a Yamaha, Honda, Tohatsu, or Suzuki outboards as well!
Once I got back to my house, I noticed that the starter rope was dry and needed to be repaired, so I had to order a new one on Amazon. Figured I'd add a new DIY repair video as I worked on fixing the outboard.

Here are links for doing this yourself:

-OEM Mercury Recoil Assembly (this one is for a 15hp 2-stroke outboard boat motor): https://amzn.to/3Zwu8GG

(If you purchase an item from one of these links, I will get paid a small commission, which helps me keep making videos. Thanks!)
