Ptuj – Slovenia's Oldest City: Things to Do & Is It Worth a Stop?

This is Ptuj, our second stop on this 15-day Balkans trip. We traveled from Zagreb to Ptuj with our rental car. Ptuj is the oldest town in Slovenia, with history dating back to ancient Roman times. We stayed in this accommodation (link below). The location was superb, the place was spotless, and the host was very friendly.

The next morning, we explored the Old Town and visited the castle. We spent three hours experiencing Ptuj—a short but memorable visit. Here is our itinerary for Ptuj.
