Rattanakosin Overture (โหมโรงรัตนโกสินทร์) เป็นบทเพลงที่ผู้ประพันธ์ได้รับแรงบันดาลใจมาจากการอ่านนวนิยายอิงประวัติศาสตร์เรื่อง “รัตนโกสินทร์” โดย ว.วินิจฉัยกุล ซึ่งเล่าถึงชีวิต ความเป็นอยู่ของคนไทยในช่วงสมัยรัตนโกสินทร์ตอนต้น บทเพลงนี้ไม่ได้เป็นการเล่าถึงเนื้อเรื่องในนวนิยาย หากแต่เป็นการบรรยายบรรยากาศในช่วงสมัยรัตนโกสินทร์ตอนต้น ผ่านท่อนต่างๆ ในบทเพลง

Rattanakosin Overture is a composition inspired by the historical novel “Rattanakosin” by V. Vinicchayakul which based upon the circumstances and the living of Thai people in the early Rattanakosin period (1782-1851)*. This composition is not narrative music of the novel but rather the depiction of the atmosphere in the early Rattanakosin period. Those atmosphere are depicted into different sections of music.

ラッタナコーシン序曲は、初期ラッタナコーシン時代のタイ人の生活を描いた歴史小説『ラッタナコーシン』（V.Vinicchayakul著）に触発された作品です。

Viskamol Chaiwanichsiri is Thai composer, conductor and music educator. He has written for orchestra, chamber ensemble, wind ensemble and solo instrument. His music has been performed in Asia, Europe and across the United States by many renowned ensembles such as Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra, Siam Sinfonietta, Mahidol Wind Orchestra, Suranaree Girls Wind Symphony, Ratwinit Bangkaeo Wind Symphony, Feroci Philharmonic Society, Tacet(i) Contemporary Ensemble, and international music festival such as World Association Of Marching Show Bands (WAMSB) World Championship, Thailand International Wind Symphony Competition, Thailand New Music and Arts Symposium, International Festival of Wind Orchestra Prague and World Saxophone Congress.
