Following the release of ERANAËS remarkable yet thematically oppressive debut single “After The Rain” (feat. Margarita Monet & Derek Sherinian), a softer but no less intense version of the song is released as a single today, on 12/08/2022 with “After The Rain” (Piano Version), also featuring an orchestral version. Besides the soulful vocal performance of Edge Of Paradise vocalist Margarita Monet, the extraordinary duduk playing of the well-known Armenian musician Arsen Petrosyan (e.g. Steve Hackett, Omar Bashir, Ihab Darwish) now adds new melancholic facets to the song. That there should definitely be another version was evident to mastermind Stephan Lipp just like the fact that he didn’t want to produce a simple copy and, of course, that again Margarita Monet should take over the female part. He dissected and rearranged the original song but reinterpreted the tonality and harmonies during the production. The realignment of the solo part was to be the most exciting part of this. Initially intended for a cello, Stephan Lipp tested an illustrious array of instruments, including the alphorn, various traditional flutes from different continents, the Arabic zither called santur, and also the accordion and sung melodies. But the final decision was made in favor of the duduk. A traditional Armenian wind instrument most resembling an oboe. The sound of the duduk has a natural sadness adding an extra depth to the song and, along with the voices and piano sounds, gives this new version of “After The Rain” a wistful life of its own. The search for a suitable player proved difficult at first, but in Arsen Petrosyan, he found a true duduk master who has been attracting international attention for years. As chance would have it, Margarita Monet also has Armenian roots. So “After The Rain” (piano version) is also a virtual gathering. The minimalistic, intense music video, produced by Stephan Lipp together with the Indonesian digital artist Pangaksama, underlines the reduced, wistful mood of this surprisingly unusual version of “After The Rain” once again.

Both single covers of “After The Rain” are not up to standard, showing Swiss artist Christophe Terraz’s paintings tackling the oppressive topic with his very own imagery. Despite the severe background, all players’ particular interaction makes these singles a unique musical experience. Thanks to its strong catchiness, the ERANAËS song, in its different variations, immediately gets stuck in the head and more than deserves massive attention from fans and the media.
